인공지능 기반 자동번역시스템과 박물관의 활용 방안
우리나라의 역사와 문화예술이 한데 모여 있는 국립중앙박물관은 우리의 역사와 문화의 중요한 가치를 외국에 소개하고 알리며, 외국의 역사∙문화에 대한 이해를 높이고 문화예술에 대한 소양을 키우고자 최선을 다하고 있다. 그렇게 하기 위해서는 국∙내외 방대한 양의 역사와 문화를 빠르고 정확하게 번역하여 관람객에게 정보를 전달하는 것이 중요하다. 하지만, 현실적으로 시간, 인력, 비용 등의 면에서 어려운 실정이다.
본 발표에서는 이런 현실적으로 어려운 실정에 대한 해결 실마리로써 기 구축된 국립중앙박물관 한국어-영어 양방향 자동번역시스템 도입 사례를 설명할 것이다. 그리고 인공지능 기반 자동번역시스템 관련 기술동향에 대해서 설명을 하고 현재 수행중인 한국고전번역원 주관 “인공지능 기반 고전문헌자동번역시스템 구축” 사례 소개를 통하여 앞으로 나아갈 인공지능 기반 자동번역시스템과 박물관의 활용 방안에 대해서 설명하고자 한다.
Automatic Translation system based on Artificial Intellegence (AI) and Its Usage in Museums
The National Museum of Korea, where Korea's history and culture and arts are gathered, introduces and informs important values of our history and culture to foreign countries, and do their best to raise our understanding of foreign history and culture during cultivating culture and arts. In order to do so, it is important to translate vast amounts of history and culture in and out of the country quickly and accurately, and then convey information to visitors. However, in reality, it is difficult in terms of time, manpower, and cost.
In this presentation, this paper will explain the introduction of the Korean-English bilateral automatic translation system of the National Museum of Korea, which was established as a solution to this difficult reality. This paper will also introduce technology trend regarding automatic translation system, and suggests methods of utilizing artificial intelligence based automatic translation system and museums by introducing the case of "Automatic translation system for classical texts based on artificial intelligence".
