박물관 전시와 인공지능
최근 우리나라의 박물관은 스마트폰을 통해 전시 작품에 대한 음성 안내와 이미지 자동 안내 앱 서비스를 실시하고 있다. 근거리 통신기술인 비콘을 활용하여 관람자의 위치를 자동으로 파악하고 주위의 전시작품을 화면에 보여주면서 실시간으로 스트리밍 서비스를 하는 시스템이다.
이외에도 인공지능을 통하여 전시 작품을 보다 흥미롭게 이해하도록 증강현실, 가상현실, 기가픽셀 등을 활용하여 예술과 현실을 연결하는 시도들도 진행되고 있다. 외국에서는 소장품을 효과적으로 정리하고 분류하는데까지 인공 지능(AI)의 첨단 기술을 도입하려는 노력들이 이루어지고 있다. 이처럼 가까운 미래에 인공지능과 클라우드가 모든 분야의 근간을 뒤흔들고 5세대 통신이 현실과 가상 현실의 경계를 무너뜨려 일상화될 날이 머지 않았다.
이 논문에서는 한국 박물관에서의 인공지능의 현황과 세계 박물관의 사례들을 통하여 향후 개발수준과, 이러한 매체를 이용한 다양한 모델을 제시함으로써 박물관의 미래상을 살펴보고자 한다.
Museum Exhibits and Artificial Intelligence(AI)
Recently, museums in Korea have been providing voice guidance and automatic image guidance app service for exhibition works through smart phones. It’s a system that utilizes beacon, a short distance communication technology, to automatically identify the viewer's location and show the surrounding exhibition works on the screen.
In addition, attempts are being made to connect arts to reality by using augmented reality, virtual reality, and gigapixel to understand exhibitions more intuitively through artificial intelligence. In foreign countries, efforts are being made to introduce advanced technology in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to effectively organize and classify collections in foreign countries. In the near future, artificial intelligence and cloud will shake the foundation of all fields, and the 5th generation communication will become a routine thing by breaking down the boundary between reality and virtual reality. This paper will look at the future of museums by presenting future development level and various models through AI status in Korean museums and world museum’s examples.
