2015년 박물관의 보호, 증진, 수집, 다양성, 사회에서의 역할에 관한 유네스코 권고
1960년 기존 지침을 채택한 지 55년이 지난 2015년 11월, 유네스코 회원국 총회는 박물관에 대한 새로운 전세계 법적 장치를 만장일치로 채택했습니다. 전세계 박물관 분야가 현저한 변화를 겪고 있는 가운데, 이와 같은 채택은 현대 사회에서 다면적인 박물관의 역할과 이러한 역할을 뒷받침하는 정책의 필요성을 홍보하기 위한 유네스코와 회원국의 숭고한 노력을 반영합니다. 본 발표는 2015년 권장사항을 작성하기 위해 노력한 과정을 검토하고 근본적인 핵심 사항을 소개함으로써 박물관에 대한 전세계 공공정책 수립 측면에서 이 새로운 장치가 불러올 수 있는 전망과 국립박물관에 미치는 영향에 대해 논의할 것입니다.

UNESCO 2015 Recommendation on the Protection and Promotion of Museums, their Diversity and their Role in Society, a new international public museum policy
In November 2015, the UNESCO General Conference of Member States adopted unanimously a new and global legal instrument dedicated museums, 55 years after the adoption of the previous guideline in 1960. While the global museum sector has undergone significant transformation, this adoption reflects the solemn commitment of UNESCO and its Member States to promote the multifaceted roles of museums in contemporary societies and the need for policies supporting this role.
The proposed presentation will discuss, through the history of the elaboration of the 2015 Recommendation and by introducing its fundamental essence, what are the perspectives which may be brought by this new instrument in terms of international public policy formulation on museums, and their impact on the national museum landscape.
