올림픽 기간 박물관과 문화 외교: 중국과 영국 사례 연구
박물관과 박물관에서 제공하는 세계 전시회는 특히 대규모 행사 동안 한 국가의 전세계적인 홍보를 위한 강력한 도구로 오랫동안 인식되어 왔습니다. 현재, 박물관들은 정치적 선전을 위해 외국에 전시품을 보내도록 요청 받거나 수동적으로 참여하기보다는 적극적으로 주도해서 정부의 문화 외교에 참여하고 이에 따른 혜택을 받고 있으며, 이와 같은 정부 노력에 대체할 수 없는 영향을 주고 있습니다. 영국과 중국에서 개최된 올림픽 기간 동안 영국과 중국의 전시품 교류를 예시로, 본 발표는 박물관과 문화 외교가 대규모 행사 기간 동안 상호 이익을 위해 협력하는 방법을 살펴볼 것입니다.
Museums and cultural diplomacy during the Olympics: A case study on China and the UK
Museums and their international exhibitions have long been recongised as powerful tools of a country’s international promotion, particularly during mega-events. Nowadays, other than passively driven or commissioned to send exhibitions abroad for political agendas, museums also take the initiative, actively, to engage in and benefit from the government’s agenda of cultural diplomacy, and have an irreplaceable impact on it. Take the exhibition exchanges between China and the UK during the two countries’ Olympics for example, this paper will explore how museums and cultural diplomacy can work together for the mutual benefit during mega-events.
